On Sunday during Relief Society we had a most awesome lesson. Our teacher (the fabulous Sister Oxborrow) taught the first chapter from our new Gospel Principles manual. It was a truly great lesson. And one of the questions has stuck with me the last couple of days. The question was "What are some things that testify to you that there is a God?"
Where do I begin?
* Daisies- In the movie You've Got Mail, Tom Hanks' character brings Meg Ryan's character daisies when she is sick and she says that daisies are such happy flowers! Think about it, they are happy! They are such simple flowers and such beautiful flowers. How can you not know that God exists by seeing a bouquet of them?
* A child's laugh- Such joy! And in most instances, so contagious! Children can find joy and laughter in most circumstances that, as adults, we fail to see or sometimes choose not to see. God surely must exist and somewhere near a child's laugh!
* Trials- Only someone that loves us would give us a trial to make us stretch and grow and reach beyond our normalcy to be a bit better, a bit stronger, a bit wiser. And it is always when we have come through the storm of a trial that we realize how much we have grown! God must exist and love us to want us to be better, right?
* Family & friends- We all need comfort, support, and love! And, since God can't be there to put his arm around us and comfort us or tell us how proud he is of us, he gave us a family and gave us friends to be able to do what he would do! He truly must exist if he is willing to do that for us!
There are so many instances to me that prove that God exists, these are just a couple of them.
Everyone has those moment's when you see something, hear something, or even feel something and you realize that God truly does exist! What are some of yours?
