Easter Reflections

With Easter just a couple of days behind us, my thoughts have truly been turned to it. And one aspect of it in particular!

On the morning of the resurrection, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb and found it open, and believed that the body of the Savior had been taken. Upon realizing this, she alerted Peter and other apostles of this. And after they had seen for themselves and left, Mary stayed at the tomb and wept openly!

But Christ came to the Garden and saw her weeping at his tomb and asked her "Women, why weepest thou?" And when he spoke her name, she saw Him and was instantly comforted!

I am amazed at the healing power that swept over Mary. She was saddened and heartbroken. And yet, after realizing that Christ was indeed alive, she was whole once more.

There is a healing balm that comes from the Savior. Through faith in Him and our Heavenly Father. The same peace that was spoken to Mary can be spoken to us when we are in our deepest, darkest despair.

Everyone of us needs that peace in our lives and I hope that we can always remember how we can obtain it. And remember that joy long after our hearts are comforted.
